Watkins Glen State Park offers hikers an up-close view of the park's iconic waterfalls--19 waterfalls along a system of trails inside and along the rim of the 2 mile long glen with 200 foot high cliffs. The Gorge Trail traverses the glen's interior, offering hikers spectacular views of the stream and falls.
The center piece attraction within the Gorge Trail is Rainbow Falls. This spectacular set of falls through the canyon's schist attracts hikers, photographers and artists. The mood of the falls shifts with the subtle changes in light, seasons, and rainfall. Ephemeral falls drain over the gorge's rim, cascading off the jagged rock ledges to the stream below.

Stephen...BEAUTIFUL CAPTURE! Lived in Ithaca awhile ago and regularly visited Rainbow Falls in different seasons and, as you noted, in different MOODS!! So loved that bracket of Life...it was waterfall heaven in our backyard...Buttermilk State falls, Treman State Park Falls, Taughanock Falls, Ithaca Falls...I know I am forgetting another... oh well!
